LOLOL... I remember my very first "call applesauce" experience back in the basement of your Clinton home. I can laugh now but I wasn't then. Honestly, I went home and called my mom and told her these women (Jane, Grandma, Dianne ) were crazy. Back then we worked like dogs (not chickens, Jenni :) )the woodbury, call kids ran amuck the entire day and I took home 7 quarts!!! I also remember thinking I had seen better looking stuff coming from human bowels than that applesauce constipation poop coming from the machine..:( But then when the winter days were upon us and we rationed our 7 quarts because it was so delicious I was thankful for the insanity!!! Way to go Woodbury SANE ??? WOMEN (and a few menfolk) Love you all thanks for the sweet memory and sorry for the human bowel reference.
oh, Gaye! That Clinton experience is best as a memory!!! If the apples weren't free, I think I would BUY the cheap stuff rather than do that again!!! We each are taking home 24 bottles....for probably less work than the 7 qts. of yesteryear.
We DID have a good time, though. Eric brought his ipod and speakers and we boogied all day long. But that last batch....we all hit the wall.
And we DO call it "Poop." "Who wants to do the Poop next?" was heard frequently. "It's my turn next!!!" said in a whiny voice...until they realized we were going to do 200 poop turns. (or thereabouts)!!!
It WAS a fun day!!! And we are SO glad it is done. I just dragged...literally....at church today. I could hardly pick myself up off my chair in Primary!
Brindy: who is Blossom's Joey? (showing my age)
Kim the girl: WE MISSED YOU!!! We will have to plan a Fall Day for you to be here!
That must have been a party! A little sad note: Conrad couldn't remember the names of as many people as I thought he could!!! It's a good thing we'll be spending so much time there in December! yaaaaay!
Oh man I am so glad we are done with all of that!!! I am totally with Gaye I think we are all crazy, but it's soooo much better the homemade version.....and its free sort of anyway. I am so glad canning is over for the year!!
P.S. Jane Joey is froma a sitcom called Blossom...look it up on the internet:) Thanks for the really fun day it was a blast to be with you all!!
97 quarts?!?!?!? How late did you guys stay? Did Brindy go to the adult session of her stake conference? You guys are canning fools. Thanks for posting some good blackmail photos of me. I make a good devil...or chicken depending on your interpretation. :) Gaye...the poop jokes we made were the best part of the whole day-especially for MY kids. Thanks mom and dad for the use of your gas. :) errr...propane.
